Question: I hope I’m not too late to beg for Castle scoop! —Mandy
Ausiello: This season’s 20th episode is called “That ’70s Show,” and word on the street is it will literally be set in ’70s New York. Please tell me Nathan Fillion will be channeling his inner Travolts!

Jonathan Z.: I need some Castle spoilers to get me through the week!
We're beyond excited for episode 20! Why, you ask? Pull out your bell-bottoms and brush the dust off of your favorite Ashton Kutcher poster because this episode is called, "That 70s Show." In the upcoming hour, Castle and Co. will be mingling with Harold Metzger, a man who was once second in command to 70s crime boss Vince Lamotta. But unlike most mobsters, Harold is likeable, funny, and unbelievably charming. Hold onto your gal, Castle!
I'm extremely excited about Castle‘s episode set in the 1970s! Does the case revolve in that particular decade (á la “The Blue Butterfly”) or are we actually going to see flashbacks of Kate and Rick‘s early years? –Martina
The answer is… neither! As Stana Katic explained to me the other day, “In order to get information from one of our characters, we have to pretend that we’re in that era — because he believes that he’s still in that era.” But does that mean groovy threads and ‘dos for all? “I don’t know how extreme they’re going to go,” Katic answered. “But they’ve been playing around with, like, different hair and stuff — for the guys, mostly.”
The perils of polyester are something Nathan Fillion knows well. After spending a week donning synthetic clothing for Castle‘s upcoming 70s-themed episode, he says, “Boy oh boy, give me cotton any day.”
“Polyester — not the most forgiving of fabrics,” adds Fillion, seen in these exclusive photos. “It’s hot; it doesn’t really breathe because you’re wearing plastic, essentially.”
That ‘70s Show” – When construction workers find the body of an infamous New York mobster who disappeared in the seventies, Beckett and Castle try to solve this three decade-old Mafia hit. Unfortunately, their only witness is a man who thinks it’s still the 1970’s, so to uncover what he knows, they must play into his delusion, and party like it’s the last days of disco, on “Castle,” MONDAY, APRIL 21 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
“Castle” stars Nathan Fillion as Richard Castle, Stana Katic as NYPD Detective Kate Beckett, Susan Sullivan as Martha Rodgers, Molly Quinn as Alexis Castle, Penny Johnson Jerald as NYPD Captain Victoria Gates, Tamala Jones as Medical Examiner Lanie Parish, Jon Huertas as NYPD Detective Javier Esposito, and Seamus Dever as NYPD Detective Kevin Ryan.
Guest Cast: Jon Polito as Harold Metzger, Richard Portnow as Milt Boyle, Ray Abruzzo as Frank Russo, Gina Hecht as Marie Russo, Dawn Lewis as Yvonne.
“That ‘70s Show” was written by David Amann and directed by Kevin Hooks.
I loved the "Blue Butterfly" episode of Castle. How will the show handle the '70s? — Kristen
While the gang will again be delightfully costumed, "That '70s Show" is more grounded in reality. In fact, Castle, Beckett & Co. only dress up in disco-era garb to pry the truth from a witness who still believes it's 1978. Unfortunately for Beckett, the witness shares Archie Bunker's views on women, which forces Castle to take the lead on the case — and in turning back the clock on the 12th Precinct. (Just wait until you see Esposito's reaction to Lanie's Foxy Brown get-up!)
CASTLE has been off the air for several weeks, but the show returns this Monday with “That ’70s Show,” an episode that finds the characters embracing the ’70s in an attempt to solve a decades-old case.
I had the chance to screen the fun hour, and while I don’t want to ruin what goes down, I do have a few teases about the episode…
