They're both much of a muchness. Usually the Canadian promos win. Hands down. No contest. This time they're practically the same (except the US one has comic book effects! )

Marlowe calls “our typical mixture of really fun episodes and really serious episodes,” Castle this Monday will find the team tasked with tracking down a masked vigilante who fancies himself a superhero. Jon Huertas didn’t want to reveal too much about the outing – “I have my own secret identity called No Spoiler Man,” he jokes – but he did say the case will find the team taking sides. “This superhero gets things done, and is a force to be reckoned with, so some of us root for the guy, and some think he’s a wacko who needs to be gotten off the streets before he gets hurt.” All told, Esposito’s portrayer promises “a fun episode. People are really going to enjoy themselves.”

IN MY OPINION - Wet Paint has lately been a WET BLANKET about Castle. If they want light and fluffy all the time they should stick to covering stuff like GLEE.
It's like they want all the characters to stay THE SAME and do the SAME shtick EVERY episode. Like, COME ON! It's attitudes like this perpetuate the bogus "Moonlighting curse" and have turned network TV into a place where it's (mistakenly) believed that the only high quality scripted shows it can handle are pure comedy. Castle is going into season FOUR. WHY would you want to hold the characters and the story to where it was in season ONE?

Yet, this the attitude I'm getting from Wet Paint. They about how Knockout and Rise were too serious, and not like a Castle episode. Yet, THOSE episodes are two of the highest rated for Castle, EVER. Clearly, viewers have NO PROBLEM with the growth of Castle. Probably because not every Castle episode has been comedy heavy. Castle is a DRAMEDY - not a COMEDY. Part of the CASTLE story is about the murder of Beckett's mother - and how it's effected her life. That's been there from season one. I don't see how one would expect that developing storyline to be comedic. Judging by the ratings for Knockdown and Rise, viewers are interested in ALL the aspects of Castle. They are following this story's development and not just looking for the laughs.

Wet Paint, I usually get a kick out of your light and breezy style, but not everything needs to be light and breezy to be good. A good kid grows up and matures, and so do good shows. Sure, we all maintain a part of our little kid self as adults, and I also love the fun, zany Castle episodes. However, saying the show is somehow losing itself because it's been developing a deeper, more serious component is like saying you want to keep your kid in diapers forever. I think it's more useful to look at HOW the show is growing and developing rather than bemoaning the fact that the kid is growing up.

If TV keeps on pandering to the lowest common denominator where does that leave the large proportion of the population that actually have 2 brain cells to scrub together?

What's even more laughable is that when a TV show spirals out of control into the inane world of cheep jokes and increasingly unbelievable and stupid plots...out come the critics to bemoan the "dumbing down of TV shows"
