Love the idea of this episode. It just seems so straight out of fanfiction. Just imagine Castle and Martha as hostages during a bank robbery while a very worried Beckett is doing everything to get her guy out and her future mother in law....

As I previously reported in my Inside Line column, one of Season 4′s fall episodes will find Castle (played by Nathan Fillion) and his mother, Martha (Susan Sullivan), trapped inside a bank during a heist pulled off by a group of colorfully named robbers.
Norris will play the hostage negotiator who tries to defuse the situation, and get everyone out alive — while Beckett (Stana Katic) stands close by, wishing there were more she could do to help.
Okay... Confirmation that Castle and Martha are hostages, and that Kate is worried sick about Castle.

I love her reaction when he asked her "Tell me you need me?". You know when she heard him asked the question, she went straight to "oh shit.... he wants to have that conversation right now"..... She was so relieve when his question is about something else.

There's ALOT of info in that scene. The big thing fot me is that Zbeckett can't seem to tell when Castle is being serious or not. His eants to talk about our relationship...No, he's bored...so bored that hr's making stuff up about a possible bank robbery...Oh, sh*t, he's serious.
The fact that she CAN'T tell when he's serious has to weigh in on her own doubts and hesitations. Eventually she's gonna have to take a risk with her emotions without being sure of where he's at. She did so at the end of season two and got burned (which sent her into the arms of supersafe Josh.) She wasn't able to make that break with Josh until after hearing Castle's "I love you." She NEEDED something solid after the season two ending in order to make that break from him...even though her own feelings got clear in TlLaDiLA. I get that she was scared and needed something solid to go on in order to act on her true feelings. Now, however, the ball is in her court. She took a step towards putting her feelings about Castle out to him at the swings, but she's got more to do. She still has doubts. That not being able to read him him completely, has probably had her collecting "evidence" that he meant what he said (she WANTS to believe it because SHE'S head-over-heels) and the crap with Serena didn't help. Still, judging by some of the promo pics, I think she's gonna take another step towards revealing her own feelings about him, to him, in this episode.

Can I just say that if the 'reunion' scene after Castle & Martha get out of the bank or the scene at Castle's loft contain the phrase/words "I was thinking..." or "Helluva day!" there's a very high probability Caskett will be interrupted!
I wonder what it will be like when Castle gets out of the bank? Wonder if Alexis will run up to him & her grandmother? More importantly...wonder where Beckett will be when the Castle family reunion hugs start going around?
I also wonder if Castle will tease Beckett at the end, when they're drinking their wine? Say something along the lines of "next time I tell you I'm in the middle of a bank robbery...don't always assume it's down to my writers imagination!"...and Beckett could reply back with "well, if you came down to the 12th to help me with the paperwork none of this would have happened!"
*This will never happen* Then they both could say nothing, put the wine glasses down and they could both go and investigate the thread count on Castle's sheets! *This will never happen...in 407*

Well, we knew Beckett wasn't on her favorite person list. However, Beckett DIDN'T know that. On the other hand, if she DIDN'T have a relationship with Beckett, Alexis wouldn't have spoken to her that way. She wouldn't have told a negotiator that was a stranger, "you'd better." There's a certain intimacy in expressing that level of anger.
Also, we just got a conformation that Alexis REALLY doesn't think about Meredith in terms of family.
I found it more interesting that Beckett is thrown into the hostage negotiations and it's "the opposite of your homicide detective training." This is a tough situation for her to be in. She can't interrogate these guys. (Although, the guy who's the head of interrogation didn't seem like he had the personality for the job he was describing either, LOL!) Alexis may know Beckett's not supposed to be there, which is just one more way the detective is putting her family's life at risk.
While Nathan seems to be getting to do his usual funny/charming Castle thing, I'm thinking we're gonna see more of his serious stuff in there as well.
It looks like this is going to be a really dramatically driven ep - I am SO looking forward to it!
November sweeps! You KNOW there's gonna be Caskett stuff all mouth, right?

Woah man! Alexis is a bit feisty with Beckett isn't she? Way to go Alexis, boyfriend on the other side of the continent (not picking up his phone) when she wants some support...Beckett right there in front of her trying to help? Provokes anger more than soothes. That'll be some complex issues dealt with during this eppy RIGHT THERE!
Interesting Castle/Beckett dynamic in this episode as well. Where as Castle's usual "what's the story here?" style of going about things will actually help "the case" (The Case this week being Why the heck are these peeps robbing a bank? What do they want?...) Beckett will have to go against her instincts, against her strengths and against her character to get Castle (& Martha) out alive. It's a pretty big ask even if she was on a sure footing...but this is a whole different ball game and the stakes could not be higher for her. (And Beckett also has Alexis to deal with...even if Alexis isn't exactly loving Beckett at the moment!)
It's funny that Beckett seems to get all the serious, darker stuff when she's the one outside the bank, she's free. Where as Castle stuck inside the hostage situation seems to be bringing the lighter elements of the show into play. Yin & Yang? (Thinking about it too much: However Yin/Yang can also be reversed on this show. Sometimes Beckett is the one that's fast, solid & focused & Castle is softer. Beckett's cell phone is white, Castle's is black. Just sayin'.)
