4x21 "HEADHUNTERS" Spoilers

I was mostly being sarcastic because they've given like half of the episode for us to watch

You know what we haven't seen is Martha and Alexis and what their reaction is to this "new-old" Castle. I'm hoping that we get a scene where either Martha or Alexis call him out on his behavior and link that behavior to the way he is dealing with Beckett.

Well, Martha needs to redeem herself a bit because she went rightt along with Castle's jump in logic - even though she'd pointed out earlier that telling someone I love you after they've been shot in the chest and are bleeding out in your arms isn't necessarily the most convincing of moves. It needs some follow-up. I've noticed a few columnists hitting on that idea. That basically Beckett had reason NOT to say anything - because of the circumstances under which it was said. Kind of like the same reason information gotten under torture is immediately suspect and has to then be vetted and proven as fact. It may give you a direction to look, but is as likely to be false as true. In that scenario his words may have given her HOPE and forced her to look at what she wanted in her life, but it may NOT have made her think Castle was really ready to deal on that level either....

I don't think there will be anything really THAT huge on this episode, because I think the writers will want to drag it along until the season finale. If I had to guess I'd say she's going to just tell him what she's been telling these 7 months she's been lying to him about the shooting: That she was healing and that she was not ready. She does that and they can drag along their will they-won't they relationship for a couple more of episodes before going right down to it. However, this wouldn't incorporate Castle getting physically hurt on the episode, so I'd say it's more likely that she will be in a mirror-like situation with Castle and end up confessing both that she knows and that she feels the same way.

Personally, though, if it was me writing I'd just put Beckett to talk to him and when he wouldn't let her explain herself she'd lightly kiss him on the lips and walk away, Castle on her heels. But I think it would show up in the promo, I know I'd put it there, after all the promos and sneak peeks are supposed to get us to think that the episode will have more than what they truly have and a Caskett kiss on the promo would mislead most of the audience into thinking that they's finally get together in this episode, I think. But again, that's just me.

The thing is, from the spoilers we KNOW Castle is gonna get physically hurt. Plus, the finale is too close. They've got to deal with some of the fallout BEFORE the finale. Marlowe likes to write 8 episodes ahead, and these are his last three of the season. I think he's made it a bit tight for himself, but you never know exactly how much is the writer and how much is the network. I know the network was asking their focus groups ALOT of questions around how long this will-they-won't-they thing can drag on and I think the consensus was there HAD to be SOME major movement forward, even if not resolved. Plus, I think Castle has to take SOME responsiblity for his own actions and for jumping to conclusions. I'm hoping tht the events in this episode give him the space to be able to think and not just react. It's really the difference, I think, between a man and a boy. The initial reaction he has is protective and insecure, and apparently typical of the western male species, but MATURE men, given time, space, and a bit of a reality check, to tend to go and address the problem. As the poster dstorm mentioned, Slaughter is probably Castle's reality check.

Seeing that Castle's confession came about in a moment of crisis... I would like for hers not to. :/ Why does it need to take a moment of crisis? Never mind that at that point, I'll just except Beckett to copy Castle's moves. Since she also did the whole not calling thing. I know the circumstances are a little different but to me it would feel like they're just borrowing ideas instead of coming up with new ones...

So I'm hoping her confession comes around because she's confronting the issue... and not because of a crisis.

I don't expect anything to happen in this episode either.

See, I don't see the crisis pushing Beckett. She's already asking questions and looking into things. The crisis is to push CASTLE. He's the one who needs a two-by-four across the back of his head to have him see reason. He needs to see that his "conclusion" doesn't make sense given Kate's ACTIONS, and then confront her about WHY she lied. However, until Slaughter makes him see just how callous a cop could be in a situation of having a civilian following around he doesn't get the level of care Beckett has put in to keep him safe while still letting him feel like a part of the team. He needs to remember what makes Kate special.

I just hope Castle isn't practically dying before she says anything That is all.

Naw, I don't think so. Besides I think he's gonna be the one who ultimately starts the conversation because remember, right now HE'S snutting her out. She CAN'T talk to him until he's ready to open the door and listen. In a way, THAT is the parallel. She now has to wait for him to be ready to deal.

Remember how a couple of weeks ago, I mentioned that Castle needed a guy to tell him to man up and to stop behaving the way he is. With this quote by Adam, I wonder if Slaughter just tells Castle that no wonder Kate is not feeling Castle. He is behaving like a spoil little kid who just expects the girl to come to him. Slaughter will probably tell him if it were him, he would walk up to Beckett and ask her out and that way he would know for sure if she was interested in him or not...

So, damn simple! I LOVE IT!

One thing about AWM is that he loves to do many mirror scenes, and I figure we might get one here similar to the one when Demming asked Castle if it was okay to ask Beckett out on a date.

Slaughter is going to notice the attraction and tension between Castle and Beckett, and he will know that these two have it bad for each other. I imagine that Slaughter is the kind of guy that likes to get in people's nerves, and he will use Rick's attraction to Kate to get to Castle. Slaughter might just use his "manly powers" to convince Castle to "man up" and to talk to Kate once and for all.

If it pans out, then Castle really needed someone other than the guys at the 12th and the Castle women. He needed to hear it from another guy that he is acting out and needs to talk to Beckett.

It is in away a guy thing.. We don't really talk about what is troubling us, so we seek out something to preoccupy our minds. We might head to the bar and while there talk to the guy next to us, and we tell him what is upsetting us knowing full well that the other guy really doesn't care about our troubles. What we really are looking for is someone to tell us to stop the pity party and to "man up". I feel this is what Slaughter's role will be in the episode.
