Rick & Kate: Have I Told You Lately

This just popped up on my timeline. I'll echo the tweeter in saying it's pretty awesome. Great idea in the use of sound and dialougue, and the execution is at times flawless. Some really nice editting. I don't have the best screen at the moment, so I can't be sure on the clip quality, but definitely watch it in HD. What REALLY gets me about this vid is how it captures what I feel is the heart of Castle. It captures the FEELING the show engenders. Yes, it is witty, and has quirky murders and things that make me laugh out loud, but the show's engine isn't comedy, it's relationships: camaraderie, family, romantic love...the stuff of drama. Even when the murder of the week is a body in a pizza oven and the laughs are many, it's these characters and their relationships with each other that underlie the story. Moody, introspective...I really had to watch it twice...It's not a lighthearted Caskett. The vid is by MarinaL, the song and the video is called Lost Along the Way. It's really looking at the events of Knockdown and the fallout it causes in the relationship between Kate & Rick..and how season four is slowly putting the pieces back together. At least that's what I took from it. I don't know, something about this piece is different, intriguing.... Let me know know what you thought.

Okay...this is one of those vids where I can't really say WHY it works - but every time I watch it I just giggle! Maybe it's because it is SO about Nathan...as Rick Castle.

OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG!!!!!!!! THIS IS AMAZING! A complete throughline to the conspiracy, to Castle and Beckett's relationship, the CECRETS, what's at stake - BRILLIANT, I tell you, BRILLIANT! (And, no, Tink, I'm not just saying it because it's you. )

This vid has such CLARITY of storytelling, clean lines, great audio! HELL, THERE's stuff about the conspiracy I'd FORGOTTEN about! A GREAT way to catch up before this final arc of season 4!

This came via Castle_is_Life on twitter. It's very well done, editing wise and song choice, but what really struck me about it is the editor is telling Kate's INTERNAL story, which isn't necessarily linear or canon-direct. Yet, it DOES in fact create a very good sense of what Kate's been going through emotionally regarding Castle and herself for nearly 4 seasons. Really quite an emotionally moving piece.
