NOPE! The finale airs May 7th. To me ABC schedulers ar idiotic. Basically it means they are going to lose BIG TIME in that slot for May sweeps. They did something similar in the fall, cutting short mid-November and gave away December COMPLETELY. The fact that aren't the bottom of the network totem pole is really in spite of themselves. They sabotage themselves all over the place and instead of pushing quality hits they tend to push crap like The Bachelor and GCB. I wouldn't mind the crap so much if they would just program their seasons with some kind of LOGIC. I swear, half the reason CBS is the number #1 network is they do hiatus stuff far more strategically. For instance, they don't go into RERUNS or start NEW shows at the near the end of the season. They make sure they have programming through to the end. ABC? They lauch GAME SHOWS that are barely fit for daytime.

Okay, so, back to your question. There will be six episodes of Castle back-to-back. March 25 - May 7. So, yeah, it's GREAT for fans, and it IS great for Castle's numbers....I suppose I shouldn't care that ABC iappears to be screwing themselves over....Probably this is best they could do because of all the things they've screwed up with sceduling prior to this... Let's just hope they learned something this year....

You know, if I didn't love Castle so much I'd likely refuse to watch ABC. :/ Their crap is truly crap.

Honestly, I think if ABC had known Castle was going to get deep and not stay a light and fluffy Nathan Fillion vehicle they may not have greenlighted it. Being that the more Dramatic episodes consistently do better in the ratings than the fluff, they're kind of stuck with it. Kind of like Grey's Anatomy. If memory serves me it also started out far more light-hearted than it is now.

Haaaaaah compared to the other stuff on ABC I would classify Castle as light and fluffy... the dramatic episodes too. Even at its darkest, I still walk away happy (whether or not I liked the episode). Because it's free of your typical soap opera crap found in nearly every other ABC show.

Maybe they thought Firefly fans would convert to crime dramas

Soap-operas aren't drama, they are melodrama: Desperate Housewives, Revenge, GCB...they are all melodrama. Grey's used to be like that, but seems to have turned into a legit drama show...
