Ausiello: Showrunner David Amann confirms that Castle will resume its springtime two-parter tradition, somewhere around Episodes 14/15. Perhaps to dig deep into the mystery of Rick’s vanishing? “We think that it will deal with that in some way,” Amann allows, “but it won’t be exclusively about that.”

I had the same thought, but executive producer David Amann says that when the show revisits that story line in an upcoming two-parter, "it isn't necessarily a function of him being a private eye." So what does cause Castle to think about his missing time? "The case he's involved with that has some emotional intensity ... brushes up against his experiences that occurred while he was missing," Amann says of a murder investigation involving Annie Wersching's 3XK disciple Dr. Kelly Nieman.

She’ll play a big role in February’s two-parter. “There’s a murder that our cops are investigating at the beginning of the episode that seems to connect to her,” showrunner David Amann says. “That puts us on what we think is going to be a fun, dramatic journey for the audience as we try to solve that murder and figure out what her involvement is in it, if any.”
