4x10 "CUFFED" Spoilers

Well, I was pretty sure I heard Castle say "they warned me about pushing" or something along those lines. I am wondering if this might be the ep the cat is let out of the bag? And if it might be time for Beckett to do her patent "Castle, we're over!" routine.

OH theory! What if it was Castle's turn to say "We're over"??? He could do it at the end of this one to protect her while he finishes solving her mother's case... that would be an interesting change. And it would probably make Beckett more angry over that than him hiding evidence!

Ummm....they're over what? Being partners? Friends? Andrew's played those cards already, and unlike other shows he doesn't tread backwards like that. I think he's gonna raise the relationship stakes before he crashes things again. So, maybe there's a liplock in this episode...just from that one shot of Castle checking her back, it's clear there will be some mega sexual tension moments. I'm thinking any kind of real secret revealing and relationship crashing will be closer to - if not THE finale.

After seeing the sneek peeks I can't help but wonder if 3X is in the mix again. Took her badge and gun, and his cellphone... You know, since they didn't take the bait on his last caper....

I figured "we've over" period. And he might not backtrack on some things but the "we've over" bit has come up at least once each season. Oh wait, maybe it was twice last season and once the first season? I'm losing track. I mean she almost didn't let him back in the beginning of three I thought maybe the "we're over" bit was just a little running gag... lol It's not like she is EVER serious

And you might be right about the revealing and crashing being at the end of the season. Maybe I was hoping it'd be the mid season finale and not the end of the season so we'd move forward with the relationship in season 5 instead of pulling back and slowly climbing up again. Not realistic I know because I'm sure they're gonna draw it out for as long as possible....

Here's the difference: the first time was him sticking his nose where it didn't belong. The second time, he abandoned their partnership - never called, didn't even say he was back in town, and she'd been burned. The THIRD time, was about their friendship and if that's what they were - it was a SERIOUS fight, personal to them both. I think the next time that line comes up with real consequence (because, yeah, there is the everyday threat of "you do this and we're done" or "I'll shoot you" - that's a running gag, but different than these pivotal breaks) they're going to be in an actual romantic relationship. They're no payoff if they aren't. That is the difference between what alot of shows do. They never actually MOVE the relationship forward. If Beckett and Castle start dating, they get a taste of what that is like And THEN the secrets break, they are losing alot more...AND they have alot more to think about in terms of wanting that relationship back. Right now, they don't REALLY know what they'd be giving up by not being together - especially Beckett. The relationship is then still moving forward for me - so long as it's them working things out and NOT more third-party triangles I'm in. If they split them and try the triangle thing again - I'm out.

Maybe. But she's going to be pretty angry when she learns Castle kept this secret from her. I would still not be shocked to hear her say "we're over" again. Or maybe they'll do something else and we'll see her deck Castle. hahaaa. (p.s. at least her "we're over" were always a laugh to me... like she'd really let him walk away not saying they weren't pivotal moments... I still love the one in Knockout with the Captain. Priceless.)

Another reason why I thought maybe it'd be Castle's turn is because of the roll reversals. We're seeing Beckett open up more like Castle usually is.. and it was her turn not to call him this season... It was just an idea anyway. Not saying they will or should do this. I just wouldn't be surprised if they did.

And yes, they do another triangle and I'm gone.

You know it's hard to decide what "secret" is the worst...



I know Beckett will be as mad as a hippo with a hernia when she finds out that Castle has been investigating her mother's case...on his own...again! But his motivation this time is entirely different. Her mother's murder built a wall around her heart, her heart cannot be free until the wall comes down and the case is solved. Problem is solving the case just might kill her (stopping her heart walled or "unwalled"!) Castle's had a brief glimpse of what that would look and feel like. His motivation for digging this time is to take down the wall and keep Beckett safe (seriously? This is like Castle Jenga!)

Beckett on the other hand...hmmmm...I don't know peeps? She wants to get all her ducks in a row before she acknowledges Castle's declaration. I can see why she's doing/done it...but Yeesh! Is THAT gonna hurt like a twisting knife when it drops! Castle suspects that she's lying to him...that might be the only consolation...he at least has some opportunity to wonder on the secret Beckett's keeping (Don't think Beckett has a clue Castle's still digging into her mother's case)

Based on the GMMR interviews with Stana, I believe Castle will be very upset with Kate. Think about it. After she was shot, she asked him for time. When she did return, she chose to hide the truth from him. She left Castle for 3 months in a state where he was wondering if he was ever going to see her again. He is going to be hurt by this, and he is going to wonder if she really does care for him because you don't do that to someone you love. Castle will probably assume that her silence was due to her not feeling the same way --i.e. she was trying to protect their friendship by keeping quiet because she does not feel the same way.

I didn't watch the interviews... I don't like watching interviews... watching interviews leads to frustration... I barely manage to keep myself from reading ALL rumors. gah

Yes, of course it makes sense he's going to be upset. I was STILL hoping Castle would be too ecstatic that she loves him to care... but I guess that little hope was just busted And not saying it wont be awesome either way...

If you mean the GMMR interviews with Stana, I didn't get at all...at least in terms of Castle wondering why she waits so long. I don't think the question for him is "does she care about me." I think they've written Castle to a place where he KNOWS she does. Hedon't threw down that gauntlet of "hiding in relationships with men you don't love" because on some level he KNOWS it's her feelings for him she's hiding from. Season two he certainly was unclear about her, but now? The issue is about Kate's willingness to DEAL with her feelings, acknowledge them, face them, act on them. Castle's anger, I think, will be about how long she's been willing to hang onto that lie just so she didn't have to deal with her own fears. It gives her an upper hand in the dynamic which is all about her power and control stuff. I can see Castle questioning does he want to always be dealing with her stuff, which is different than questioning does she love him.

I like your take better than mine. I do see him questioning why she needed to hide this from him especially knowing how he feels about her. Does she fear being in a relationship with him? Does she fear that she could not make him happy? All these questions are going to be front and center for him, and he then has to confront his own secret.

I also think that Marlowe has set it up where these two are building that strong foundation that will allow them to overcome any barrier in their own peculiar way. I believe this was what Andrew was trying to show us with the whole Alexis-Ashley arc. Their relationship was not strong enough to overcome distance and its first real conflict because they had not established the foundations for a lasting relationship nor did they believe that their relationship could go the distance. The relationship was all emotion based. Remember what Castle told Alexis in Demons... "If two people really believe in something. really believe.. anything even the impossible becomes possible". The question will be how much do Kate and Rick believe in them as a couple.

So...before the creepy man comes to look down on them...it would seem that Castle & Beckett have been lying on the mattress...this time with Castle's arm under Beckett's head? Or am I just reading FAR too much into one second of promo footage?

^ Yep. That's the video editor person, Tinkonbrink. Man, do you have an eye for detail lady! Nice catch! What I noticed in the still...Beckett is wearing a lace demi-bra - it shows through her shirt . Poor Castle....

Looking at it again I'd say that Castle & Beckett have been laying facing one another. Castle on this right side, Beckett on her left. (Her cuffed hand nearest the mattress & his over the top.) It'd actually be more comfortable than leaving your arm under the other persons neck/head. If you look closely Beckett's left shoulder is lower than her right...she's been facing Castle...the creepy guy has opened the trap door...and she's turned up to look at him.

Knowing our luck the creepy guy will have read the Caskett Shipper handbook (Season 4: Martha Rodgers edition) Push couple together (or cuff 'em in this case!) Wait for a Caskett "moment" now INTERRUPT!
