CASTLE, STUCK AT HOME WITH A BROKEN LEG, FINDS HIMSELF SUDDENLY THROWN INTO A “REAR WINDOW”-ESQUE MURDER MYSTERY, ON ABC’S “CASTLE”

“The Lives of Others” --In the show’s 100th episode, Castle finds himself in the unfortunate position of NOT being able to work a case. While he’s holed up in the loft with a broken leg, Beckett goes off to investigate the death of an IRS agent without him, leaving Castle miserable and bored. But when he thinks he witnesses the murder of a young woman in the apartment across the street, he is thrown into a “Rear Window”-esque murder mystery that hits much too close to home, on “Castle,” MONDAY, APRIL 1 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

“Castle” stars Nathan Fillion as Richard Castle, Stana Katic as NYPD Detective Kate Beckett, Susan Sullivan as Martha Rodgers, Molly Quinn as Alexis Castle, Penny Johnson Jerald as NYPD Captain Victoria Gates, Tamala Jones as Medical Examiner Lanie Parish, Jon Huertas as NYPD Detective Javier Esposito, and Seamus Dever as NYPD Detective Kevin Ryan.

Guest Cast: John Griffin as Gavin DeWinter, Raquel Alessi as Selena Rigas, Eric Nenninger as John Dessens, and William DeVry as Dan Renner.

“The Lives of Others” was written by Terri Edda Miller & Andrew W. Marlowe and directed by Larry Shaw.

“Castle” is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC’s selected HDTV format, with 5.1 channel surround sound.A TV parental guideline will be assigned closer to airdate.

Understandable! Looking ahead to the April 1st episode, what can you tease about hour 100? SD: Well, Ryan is helping assist the mystery. [Laughs] As he usually does, he’s usually very good at that.

It’s a fun episode, and I think the audience is going to like it. It’s a little bit different in that Castle is sort of removed from the mystery because of a broken kneecap. I think it’s [a] skiing [accident]?

I believe you’re correct. SD: [Joking] What an idiot, right? [Laughs] He goes a little stir-crazy, and a la Jimmy Stewart in REAR WINDOW, he starts investigating crimes around him because he’s bored and stuck at home. And then he makes us run around a lot, trying to investigate these things for him. And in the end, the mystery hits a little closer to home than we think. There’s a nice thing that happens.

It is nice to have further confirmation about how they had to dial back on the Caskett chemistry early on. I know back in theABY and later in the Founding Fathers much of the early criticism Bones fans had was that Caskett's Chemistry was not the same as B&B's early on. Many compared those early season's with B&B's early seasons and they would suggest that B&B had "it" while Castkett did not. Back then I would point out that Marlowe, as he has stated, had met with Nathan and Stana and asked them to hold back on their chemistry, and many doubted that claim even when I quoted Marlowe's interviews. We see now how much they indeed were holding back, and even some of the Bones diehards have come to admit that Caskett has "it" like B&B at one time did.
